Note:  Turquoises are considered semi-precious gemstones.  It is labeled a semi-precious gem stone due to its non-transparency.  It is a solid non-see through stone.  A rare gem that is of dual nature is the sugilite.  This stone appears in nature as a non-transparent stone but some specimens have been found that are transparent.
